The information at the top of the summary page indicates Line Number, Schedule Number, Effective Date, Revised Date, Day of Week, Direction and divisiones of operation. The timepoints are listed geographically and the trip times are read from left to right.
As with the paddles, Weekday, Saturday and Sunday paddles are printed on white, blue and yellow colored paper, respectively.
A Pull Out trip is referenced by the letter "PO" and the appropriate division letter in the far left next to the bus run number. Similarly, a Pull In trip is referenced in the far right by the letter "PI" and the appropriate division letter.
Particular trips which have a note applying to the trip are referenced in the left hand column with a letter, the specific wording of the note appears on the last page of each direction. General notes which apply to all trips are listed at the bottom of each page of the summary.
When schedules are rewritten, summaries bearing a new schedule number and new effective date will be issued. All canceled pages will be removed and the new pages inserted into the notebooks. When summaries using the existing schedule numbers are revised, the effective date will remain the same, but the revised date will be changed.
At each service change the Planning Department will issue a notice (Supervisors' Summary Letter) to all concerned highlighting the changes to the summary book, and it will be the responsibility of the holder of each summary book to maintain only the current pages in the book.
Temporary changes to existing schedules are issued in the form of Pink Letters (information on pink stock). The pink letter will supplement and/or change the summaries in effect and will be referenced to the appropriate schedule number and day of week. The pink letter will remain in effect until canceled.
